What Causes Tinnitus?
What Causes Tinnitus?
Millions of people around the world suffer from tinnitus. You may not know this but at one time in their lives, 18% of all Australians suffer from this illness. It is more common than most people realize. But what causes it and why is it that some people have it while others do not? We’re going to answer some of these questions in this article. Hopefully, this will help you understand why you or a loved one has tinnitus.
Tinnitus is a symptom that is produced by a variety of ear disorders. The problem with this illness is that it is very hard to diagnose. The reason is because, at its core, tinnitus can be caused by one or more of five parts of the hearing mechanism. Pinpointing which one is difficult if not impossible.
On top of that, there are other factors that can contribute to tinnitus, including a blocked ear canal, blocked Eustachian tube or even something as simple as an ear infection. If you ever had an earache as a child, did you ever notice that humming inside your ear? Well, that is a form of tinnitus caused by the infection in your ear. In most cases, it clears up. However, there are times when it doesn’t and leads to a long term battle with this problem.
Other causes include drugs which can damage the inner ear. These include aspirin and certain antibiotics. Hearing loss itself can cause tinnitus. Have you ever noticed that occasionally you’ll get a ringing in your ear? (if you don’t have one constantly) Each time that happens, a degree of hearing is lost. Usually, it’s slight enough that you won’t notice it over time.
Even something as simple as anemia can cause tinnitus. The reason is because not enough blood is being directed to the parts of the body that affect hearing. This is why anemia is such a serious problem as it can affect you in so many ways.
If you’re suffering from tinnitus, the cause probably isn’t your main concern right now. You’re more interested in an effective treatment. At the top of the navigation bar where it says “Honest Review of Cure For Tinnitus“, I’ve reviewed a great book on this subject. I think you will find it most helpful in getting hold of a treatment that brings relief.
